    It’s that time of year again! Paddle Monster is It’s that time of year again! Paddle Monster is offering a 2023 Spring Training Camp in Fort Pierce, Florida. Though I won’t be able to participate in this one, Paddle Monster coach Victoria Burgess @aquaholicv will be running it. Few people realize that Victoria is not only a wonderful ocean athlete and accomplished SUP racer, but she’s also a PhD is Exercise Science, a university prof and a certified sport nutritionist. You aren’t going to find a more knowledgeable or engaging instructor. And in case you’re wondering, I’ll be running a couple of camps this summer in my hood, Oakville, so stay tuned for details on that. Here’s the details re Victoria’s March camp: Coach Victoria Burgess is offering a 4-day training camp from Friday, March 3 to Monday, March 6, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida. The camp’s focus will be on technique and training to help paddlers get a jump on preparation for early season races. Included in the 4 days: • Body composition testing • Review of technique fundamentals • Land drills and water drills • Video and video analysis • Technique focus intervals • Aerobic base intervals • Anaerobic threshold intervals • Introduction to sprinting • Drafting work • Surf session if conditions permit This camp is ideal for those that have done their off-season training over the winter, whether or not they have actually been able to paddle. Victoria is an experienced coach, racer and ocean endurance athlete who is also a PhD in Exercise Science and a certified sport nutritionist.
